Notes: Abstract In the reactionnatAg+40Ar (285 MeV) there have been measured the energy spectra of the isotopes of elements from H to Cl at an emission angle of 40°, the energy spectra and angular distributions of1H,2H,3H, and4He, and the angular distributions of Li, Be, B, and C. The contribution from multinucleon transfer reactions to the formation of light charged particles is discussed.

Notes: Abstract A search for the12C decay of114Ba produced in the58Ni(58Ni,2n) reaction was performed by using polycarbonate track detectors. Assuming the total half-life of114Ba to be 0.1 s, the lower limit T c ≥103 s for the partial12C-decay half-life was established.

Notes: Abstract In this paper Robinson's algebra is embedded in a countable class of algebras of primitive recursive functions. Each algebra of this class contains the operations of addition and composition of functions and also one of the operations ia which are defined as follows: g(x)= i a f(x) (a=0, 1, 2, ...) if g(x) satisfies the equations g(0)=a and g(x+1)=f[g(x)]. In this paper we study the properties possessed by all or almost all the algebras of this class.

Notes: Abstract A definition is provided of k-fold infinite sums and products of isol integers, and certain properties of such sums and products are proven. The definition is based on the concept of generalized recursive equivalence types, introduced at the beginning of this paper. The validity of the properties, connected with the canonical extensions of functions on isols, is established for arbitrary functions, and not only for general recursive functions, since the generalized recursive equivalence types permit their incorporation without the Nerode metatheorem in the proof of such properties.

Notes: Abstract The isotope 102254 was synthesized in the extracted beam of the OIYaI (United Institute of Nuclear Research) 150-cm cyclotron by means of the reaction Am243(N15, 4n) 102254. By recording the alpha disintegrations of the primary and daughter nuclei, it was shown that the half-life of this isotope is between 20 and 50 sec, while the energy of its emitted alpha particles is 8.10±0.05 MeV. These figures disagree with the literature data (T1/2=3 sec, Ecα=8.3 MeV).

Notes: Abstracts In experiments on the irradiation of Pu242 and Pu239 with O16 and O18 ions in the extracted beam of the 310-era cyclotron of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research, isotopes of 102254, 102253 and 102252 have been synthesized. Their properties are given below: Isotope T1/2, sec Eα, meV 102254 75±15 8.11±0.03 102253 95±10 8.01±0.03 102252 4.5±1.5 8.41±0.03 In order to identify the isotopes, the excitation functions are measured in crossover reaetions and the α decay of the daughter nuclei is recorded.

Notes: Abstract The isotopes Fm247, Fm247m and Fm246 were synthesized in the extracted beam of the 310-cm heavy-ion cyclotron in the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research by irradiating Pu239 with C12 ions. ]he procedure of collecting the recoil atoms by means of gas jets is used, with subsequent recording of their ~- decay with Si(Au) detectors. For the isotope Fm247, α-activities are obtained with two different half-lives - one with two obviously complex groups of α-particles Eα=7.87±0.05MeV (∼70%) and EEα=7.93±0.05 MeV (∼30%), whose half- life is T1/2=35±4 sec; the other, with Eα=8.18±0.03 MeV has T1/2=9.2±2.3 sec. Data are confirmed concerning the properties of the isotope Fm246(Eα=8.25±0.03MeV and T1/2=1.6±0.4 sec), synthesized in 1966 at The Joint Institute for Nuclear Research.

Notes: Conclusions From our analysis of the experimental studies of element 103, conducted at Dubna and Berkeley, we can draw the following conclusions. 1. At the present time, the best studied has been the isotope of element 103 with mass number 256, synthesized in Dubna. In 1965 a value of the half-life of 45±10 sec was obtained for it by observation of the daughter products of decay. In the 1967 studies it was established for this isotope by direct observation of its α-decay that it emits α-particles with 8.35〈Eα〈8.50 MeV with the most intense group at 8.42 MeV and has a half-life of ∼35 sec. According to estimates, the ratio of the probability of α-decay to the probability of electron capture is ∼〉1. 2. The data obtained in Berkeley in 1961 on the properties of the isotope 103257 (Eα=8.6 MeV, T1/2=8±2 sec) were not confirmed by experiments conducted at Dubna. The data obtained in Dubna in 1967 on the properties of the isotope 103257 (T1/2∼35 sec and 8.5〈Eα〈8.6 MeV) will require further refinement. 3. The activity with Eα=8.6 MeV and T1/2=8±2 sec, obtained in work on element 103 conducted in Berkeley in 1961 and orginally assigned to the isotope 103257, is now ascribed by the authors to the isotope 103258 or 103259. It is not known what lies at basis of the new analysis, the conclusions of which contradict part of the experimental results of the original work; however, it seems to us that additional experimental data will be needed to substantiate the new conclusion.
