Summary The origin and the degree of development of the trophoneurosis “Morbus Sudeck” are, to a great extent, subject to the vegetative basis reactions of the patient. The initial symptoms enable us to conclude aprocess of sympathetic reflexes and avegetatively and hormonally governed alteration of the blood circulation, within the reach of the arterioli and capillaries. There follow chemical alterations in the interstitial and cellular metabolism. The Sudeck substratum produced inthe animal subjected to the experiment enables us to conduct thorough intravital pH-investigations. They showed a moderate acidosis throughout. After a short description of the alterations in the albuminous metabolism it was attempted to connect the chemical alterations with the ones in the tissues.
