Notizen: In the present paper, nanocrystalline diamond films (NDFs) were fabricated on optical glass using microwave plasma assisted chemical vapor deposition (MPACVD). The suitable processing parameters are as followings: methane concentration 3% in argon, total deposition pressure 13.3 kPa, substrate temperature 500 ℃. The diamond films were characterized by means of scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Raman spectroscopy. In vitro osteoblast cell cultures and platelet adhesion tests were applied to evaluate the biocompatibility of the nanocrystalline diamond films (NDFs). All results indicate that the diamond films exhibit better tissue compatibility and hemocompatibility which are very suitable for biomedical applications

Notizen: Tetrahedral amorphous carbon (ta-C) films were deposited onto Si(100) wafers by usingfiltered cathodic vacuum arc technique (FCVA). The influence of the negative bias voltage applied tosubstrates on film structures was studied by Raman spectroscopy, X-ray photoemission spectroscopy(XPS). The ta-C films showed maximal sp3 fractions 87%, the hardness and elastic modulus of the ta-Cfilm is 72 and 480 GPa, respectively. In vitro measurements of contact angle and platelet adhesion wereapplied to evaluate the biocompatibility of the ta-C films in comparison with that of NiTi, 316L and puretitanium. The results show that the ta-C films have hydrophobicity and exhibit better hemocompatibilitywhich are very suitable for biomedical applications
