Notes: Abstract.  For deuteron photo- and electrodisintegration the selection of complete sets of polarization observables is discussed in detail by applying a recently developed new criterion for the check of completeness of a chosen set of observables. The question of ambiguities and their resolution by considering additional observables is discussed for a numerical example, for which the role of experimental uncertainties is also investigated. Furthermore, by inversion of the expressions of the observables as Hermitean forms in the t-matrix elements a bilinear term of the form can be given as a complex linear form in the observables from which an explicit solution for in terms of observables can be obtained. These can also be used to select sets of observables for the explicit representation of the t-matrix.

Notes: Abstract Formal expressions are derived for all possible polarization observables in deuteron electrodisintegration with longitudinally polarized incoming electrons, oriented deuteron targets and polarization analysis of outgoing nucleons. They are given in terms of general structure functions which can be determined experimentally. These structure functions are Hermitean forms of theT-matrix elements which, in principle, allow the determination of allT-matrix elements up to an arbitrary common phase. Since the set of structure functions is overcomplete, linear relations among various structure functions exist which are derived explicitly.

Notes: Abstract The amplitude for pion photo- and electroproduction from finite nuclei is constructed in a model that ignores rescattering of the pion. A consistent expansion in inverse powers of the nucleon mass is performed, which generates effective one-body and two-body nuclear operators. The former agree with the Blomqvist-Laget effective operators, while the latter are new and arise from binding-induced and binding-modified emission. Current conservation is applied to this set of operators and they are cast separately into manifestly gaugeinvariant forms. A simple approximation to the complicated two-body terms is constructed, which shares many of the features of the latter.

Notes: Abstract The influence of the neutron electric form factor on various observables in two-body break-up of deuterons by electrons such as differential cross section, beam, target and beam-target asymmetries and outgoing nucleon polarization as well is investigated for different kinematic regions. The electron-deuteron vector asymmetryA ed V and the outgoing nucleon polarization component P′x(n) are the most promising observables in and off the quasi-free region for a determination ofG En. Also the single polarization observablesA d T and Py 0(p) and the double polarization observable P′z(n) show significant influences fromG En.

Notes: Abstract. Polarization observables in inclusive and exclusive electrodisintegration of the deuteron using a polarized beam and an oriented target are systematically surveyed using the standard nonrelativistic framework of nuclear theory but with leading-order relativistic contributions included. The structure functions and the asymmetries corresponding to the various nucleon polarization components are studied in a variety of kinematic regions with respect to their sensitivity to realistic NN-potential models, to subnuclear degrees of freedom in terms of meson exchange currents, isobar configurations and to relativistic effects in different kinematical regions, serving as a benchmark for a test of present standard nuclear theory with effective degrees of freedom.
