Notes:
The solubility of sulfur dioxide in seawater in the range 10° to 25°C and 10-5 to 1 molal is predicted based on a simplified chemical model. Estimates are also given of the resulting pH and the attendant distribution of sulfur and carbon dioxide species. Sulfur dioxide is considerably more soluble in seawater or other naturally alkaline waters than in pure water.
