    Description / Table of Contents: Abstract S-Morpholino-dialkyl-dithiophosphates react with O,O-dialkyl-dithiophosphoric acids containing the same alkyl-group to the symmetrically substituted bis-(dialkyl-dithiophosphoryl)-disulfides1–5; with O,O-diphenyl-dithiophosphoric acid to the corresponding unsymmetrically substituted disulfides6, 7. If the alkyl-groups of the two reagents are not identical, a mixture of the two symmetrically substituted disulfides is formed. A reaction mechanism is proposed and experimentally confirmed.
    Notes: Zusammenfassung S-Morpholino-dialkyl-dithiophosphate reagieren mit O,O-Dialkyl-dithiophosphorsäuren (mit denselben Alkylgruppen) zu den symmetrisch substituierten Bis-(dialkoxy-thiophosphoryl)-disulfiden1–5; mit O,O-Diphenyl-dithiophosphorsäure zu den entsprechenden unsymmetrisch substituierten Disulfiden6–7. Falls die Alkylgruppen der reagierenden Substanzen nicht identisch sind, wird ein Gemisch der zwei symmetrisch substituierten Disulfide erhalten. Ein Reaktionsmechanismus wird vermutet und experimentell gestützt.

    Description / Table of Contents: Abstract Dialkyldithiophosphinic acids react with morpholinosulfenyl chloride to give bis-(dialkylthiophosphinyl)-trisulfides. In the presence of triethylamine the hitherto not described S-morpholino-dialkyl-mercapto-dithiophosphinates are formed. According to an assumed reaction mechanism the latter react with HCl and dithiophosphinic acids to give bis-(dialkyl-thiophosphinyl)-trisulfides. S-Morpholino-diethylmercapto-dithiophosphinate and diethyldithiophosphinic acid yield bis-(diethylthiophosphinyl)-trisulfide.
    Notes: Zusammenfassung Dialkyl-dithiophosphinsäuren reagieren mit Morpholinoschwefelchlorid zu Bis-(dialkyl-thiophosphinyl)-trisulfiden. In Anwesenheit von Triäthylamin bilden sich die bisher unbekannten S-Morpholino-dialkyl-mercapto-dithiophosphinate, die, dem angenommenen Reaktionsmechanismus entsprechend, mit Chlorwasserstoff und Dithiophosphinsäuren die Bis-(dialkyl-thiophosphinyl)-trisulfide liefern. S-Morpholino-diäthyl-mercapto-dithiophosphinat und Diäthyldithiophosphinsäure setzen sich zu Bis-(diäthyl-thiophosphinyl)-trisulfid um.

    Notes: Abstract O-Ethyl (p-chlorobenzenesulfonamido)benzenethiophosphonate (1) is shown to be associated by hydrogen-bonding by means of its i.r. spectrum in CCl4 solution. Quantitative examination allows to determine the dissociation konstantK, the temperature dependence of which leads to a ΔH-value of 8.3 kcal/mole. From this value it is concluded that the associated molecules are cyclic dimers2. The comparison of the ΔH- and pK-values with the corresponding data of other compounds which form cyclic dimers, shows that the strength of the hydrogen bonding is greater in those compounds which possess smaller pK-values.

    Notes: Die IR-Spektren lehren, daß der p-Brom-benzolsulfonamido-thiophosphorsäure-O-diäthylester in Tetrachlorkohlenstoff über Wasserstoffbrücken dimerisiert. Aus der Temperaturabhängigkeit der Gleichgewichtskonstanten K wurde ΔH zu 7.9 ± 0.4 kcal/Mol bestimmt. Die Größe von ΔH legt nahe, daß es sich um ein durch zwei Wasserstoffbrücken verknüpftes cyclisches Dimeres handelt.

O-Alkyl (Arylsulfonamido)benzenethiophosphonatesThe synthesis as well as the physical and chemical properties of O-alkyl (arylsulfonamido)-benzenethiophosphonates 1-9 are described. These esters are present in an amidothione-imidothiol equilibrium, which lies far on the side of the amidothione form. The pK-values of compounds 1-6 obey the Hammett equation. In the S-methyl derivative 10 the P-SCH3 bond is cleaved selectively by alkaline hydrolysis to form 13, whereas the O—C bond is cleaved by hydrogen chloride to yield 14.
    Notes: Es wird über die Synthese, die physikalischen und chemischen Eigenschaften der O-Alkylester der (Arylsulfonamido)benzolthiophosphonsäuren 1-9 berichtet, die in einem Amidothion-Imidothiol-Gleichgewicht vorliegen, das auf der Seite der Amidothionform liegt. Die pK-Werte von 1-6 gehorchen der Hammett-Gleichung. Im S-Methylderivat 10 wird durch alkalische Hydrolyse selektiv die P-SCH3-Bindung, durch Chlorwasserstoff dagegen die O—C-Bindung unter Bildung von 13 bzw. 14 gespalten.

Reactions between N-morpholinosulfenylchloride and Ethane-alcoxy-thiophosphonous Acids and Ethane-ethyl-dithiophosphonic AcidThe syntheses of bis-(ethane-alkoxy-thiophosphonyl)-monosulfides 3a-c and bis-ethane-ethoxy-thiophosphonyl)-trisulfide 5 are described. It is established, that the reaction path depends on the acidity of the starting compounds. In the first case (pK ∼ 7 the reactions between ethane-alkoxy-thiophosphonous acids and morpholinosulfenylchloride are three-step reactions, the intermediates being the unknown S-morpholino-ethane-alkoxy-dithiophosphonates 1a-c as well as the sulfenylchlorides of ethane-alkoxy-thiophosphonic acid 2a-c. In the second case (pK ∼ 3) a fourth reaction has to been taken into account. The intermediate sulfenamide derivatives are isolated and characterised. The sulfenylchlorides derivatives could not been isolated; their presence was indirectly demonstrated by chemical reactions.
