    Notes: Abstract Forty patients with chronic liver disease and portal hypertension but without clinical signs of portasystemic encephalopathy (15 patients with nonalcoholic cirrhosis, 15 patients with alcoholic cirrhosis, and 10 patients with minimal EEG changes) and a control group of 12 patients with chronic alcoholic pancreatitis were studied using an extensive psychometric program, which, in the same form, is used for expert reports on driving capacity. Of the cirrhotic patients, 60% were considered unfit to drive; in 25% driving capacity was questionable, 15% (only nonalcoholic cirrhotics) were considered fit to drive. In contrast 75% of the patients with alcoholic pancreatitis were considered fit to drive. Major defects were found only in three heavy alcoholics. Patients with alcoholic cirrhosis scored lower than patients with nonalcoholic cirrhosis. This was due, to differences in liver function rather than to the effect of alcohol consumption. Patients with minimal EEG changes were practically all considered unfit to drive.

    Description / Table of Contents: On Compounds of Thorium with Nitrogen and Hydrogen1ThN(NH2) was prepared by reaction of ThNI with alkaliamide in liquid (20°C) or supercritical NH3 (300°C, 4000atm), it is brown, easily hydrolyzed and of bad crystallization. In the same way Th3N2(NH)3 was prepared at 350°C.2Th(NH)2 was prepared by reaction of Th-metal with NH3 (325°C, 6000atm) at presence of some alkaliamide. It is extremely hydrolysible and crystallizes in the structure of α-Th3N4 with unoccupied ThI positions.3A hydridenitride, ThHN1.2, an interstitial compound with cubic face-centered Th-lattice, was found.
    Notes: 1ThN(NH2) wurde durch Umsetzung von ThNJ mit Alkaliamid in flüssigem (20°C) oder überkritischem NH3 (300°C, 4000 atm) als braunes, leicht hydrolysierbares Präparat von schlechter Kristallinität erhalten. Nach dem gleichen Verfahren wurde bei 350°C Th3N2(NH)3 hergestellt.2Th(NH)2 wurde durch Umsetzung von Th-Metall mit NH3 (325°C, 6000 atm) bei Anwesenheit von wenig Alkaliamid erhalten. Die Verbindung ist extrem hydrolyseempfindlich, sie kristallisiert in der Struktur des α-Th3N4 mit Leerstellen auf der Punktlage ThI.3Ein Hydridnitrid ThHN1,2, eine Einlagerungsverbindung mit kubisch flächenzentriertem Th-Teilgitter, wurde gefunden.

    Description / Table of Contents: On a Nitride-amide of ZirconiumZrN(NH2) was prepared by reaction of ZrNJ with NaNH2 in liquid NH3 at 20°C or at 360°C and 6000 atm NH3 in an autoclave. The compound is green, x-ray-cristalline and easily hydrolysible. ZrN(NH2) cristallizes orthorhombical with a = 4.21, b= 3.43, c = 7.52 Å, space group Pmmn, D2h13 (No. 59), isotypic FeOCl.By thermical disintegration ZrH0,6N-cristallizing cubic face-centered with a = 5.06Å- and the blue ZrxN were found.
    Notes: ZrN(NH2) wurde durch Umsetzung von ZrNJ und NaNH3 in flüssigem NH3 bei 20°C oder bei 360°C und 6000 atm NH3 im Autoklav erhalten. Die Präparate sind grün, sie sind röntgenkristallin und leicht hydrolysierbar. ZrN(NH2) kristallisiert rhombisch mit a = 4,21, b = 3,43, c = 7,52 Å, Raumgruppe Pmmn, D2h13(Nr. 59) isotyp dem FeOCl.Eei der thermischen Dissoziation werden ein Zirkonhydridnitrid ZrH0,6N, das kubisch flächenzentriert mit a = 5,06 Å kristallisiert, und das blaue ZrxN festgestellt.
