    Description / Table of Contents: Zusammenfassung Es wird über die Abflutung der Inhalationsnarkotika Halothan und Enfluran aus dem venösen Blut berichtet. Bei den gaschromatographisch durchgeführten Untersuchungen konnte keine Korrelation zwischen der Konzentration und der Abflutungszeit dieser Narkotika festgestellt werden, die Rüchberechungen der Blutspiegel mit forensisch ausreichender Sicherheit zulassen.
    Notes: Summary The elimination of the volatile anesthetics halothane and enflurane from venous blood is discussed. Using GLC, no correlation was found between the concentration and the elimination rate. As a result of this finding, a retrospective calculation of blood concentrations cannot be made with the required precision.

    Description / Table of Contents: Zusammenfassung Es wird über die pathomorphologischen und toxikologischen Befunde bei einer tödlichen Propoxyphenvergiftung berichtet. Nach den chemisch-toxikologischen Befunden lag die alleinige Einnahme dieses Wirkstoffes vor. Diese war mittels des Analgeticums Dolo-Neurotrat in einer Mindestmenge von 1,5 g Dextropropoxyphen HCl erfolgt. Die auffälligsten histologischen Veränderungen fanden sich am Myocard. Die Befunde sind mit Cardiotoxicität vereinbar. Für die Überlebenszeit- bzw. Todeszeitschätzung wäre es zweckmäßig, auch die Schockdauer aus den histologischen Befunden zu schätzen und mitzubewerten.
    Notes: Summary The pathomorphological and toxicological findings of a case of fatal overdose of propoxyphene are reported. The chemico-toxicological findings revealed the presence of only one active substance that has been administered (in an amount of not less than 1.5 g dextropropoxyphene) in form of an analgesic tablet preparation (marketed under the trade name Dolo-Neurotrat), in which it represents the main active constituent. The most striking histological findings are the changes in the myocardium which are consistent with cardiotoxicity. It is suggested that an estimation of shock duration by means of pathomorphological findings in combination with toxicological and other data be utilised for survival time determination.

    Notes: Abstract Investigations of the low temperature electrical resistance of the alkali metals, taking into account the actual spectrum of the lattice waves and the actual form of the wave functions to the best degree of approximation possible, are reported. It was found that for Na and K, where the approximation of free electrons is allowed, the umklapp processes augmented the temperature dependent electrical resistance only by few percents. In the case of Li, umklapp processes are more important, because of the fact that the wave functions differ from plane waves considerably. But in the whole temperature region the magnitude of the electrical resistance is determined by normal processes. Deviations from Matthiessen's rule caused by point defects are studied. In spite of the different refinements, the theory is not able to explain the experimental results in a satisfactory manner.

    Notes: Summary An analytical method is presented for identifying and quantitating the residues of eleven benzodiazepines and twelve metabolites in meat and other tissues, blood, serum, and urine. Meat, liver, kidney etc. are pretreated by enzymatic proteolysis and urine by enzymatic cleavage of glucuronides. The benzodiazepines are isolated by adsorption on Amberlite XAD-2 and are analyzed by capillary gasliquid chromatography using the electron capture detector. The benzophenones formed by acid hydrolysis of the benzodiazepines can be analyzed in the same way. A feeding experiment with a pig at a level of 0.3 mg/kg clotiazepam and oral administration of 10 mg clotiazepam to four men showed that the method stands the test under routine conditions.
