    Description / Table of Contents: By vapour pressure measurements it is found that a tetrahydrate and a dihydrate of hexachloroplatinic acid exist as special phases besides the commercial hexahydrate. There is no isomorphism between the dihydrate and the ammonium salt of the acid.  -  A contradiction present in the literature concerning the decomposition temperature of platinum tetrachloride is elucidated.
    Notes: Durch tensimetrischen Abbau wird festgestellt, daß außer dem handelsüblichen Hexahydrat der Hexachloroplatinsäure noch ein Tetrahydrat und ein Dihydrat als selbständige Phasen existieren. Es besteht keine Isomorphie zwischen dem Dihydrat und dem Ammoniumsalz der Säure.  -  Ein in der Literatur vorhandener Widerspruch über die Zersetzungstemperatur des Platin(IV)-chlorids wird geklärt.

    Description / Table of Contents: Tetramethyl ammonium amalgam is relatively stable when compared with other ammonium amalgams whose ammonium groups contain alkyl substituents. A method is described to prepare the solid amalgam electrolytically at -35°C and to separate it from most of the excess mercury. An analysis yields the composition N(CH3)4Hg11±1. The compound is a metallic conductor of electricity and has a crystalline structure. There is no isomorphism with the amalgams of the BaHg11 type. Trimethyl-ethyl-ammonium amalgam is far less stable than the tetramethyl compound.
    Notes: Unter den Ammoniumamalgamen, deren Ammoniumgruppen Alkylsubstituenten tragen, ist das Tetramethylammoniumamalgam verhältnismäßig stabil. Es wird eine Methode beschrieben, das bei -35°C elektrolytisch hergestellte feste Amalgam weitgehend vom überschüssigen Quecksilber zu trennen. Eine Analyse ergibt die Zusammensetzung N(CH3)4Hg11±1. Die Verbindung besitzt metallische Leitfähigkeit und kristalline Struktur. Es besteht keine Isotypie mit den Amalgamen vom BaHg11-Typ. Trimethyläthylammoniumamalgam ist weit weniger stabil als die Tetramethylverbindung.
