Description / Table of Contents:
The ultrasonic velocity and the absorption in diandiglycidether networks have been investigated for different curing temperatures between 60 and 130°C in dependence on curing time. From the time depending curing curves it was possible to estimate the gelation time, the passing through the dynamic glass transition, and the end stage of curing. An ARRHENIUS plot of those characteristic times and the curing temperature allows to characterize the curing kinetics of the system. For T 〈 200°C the reaction rate increases with increasing curing temperature. The decrease of reaction rate for T 〉 100°C can be explained by a destruction reaction a t higher temperatures. It could be shown that the networks cured a t lower temperatures have a more perfect structure. The Tg vs. time curves for different curing temperatures, measured by DSC, give analogous results.
Notes:
