Water soluble polymeric flocculants are successfully used to improve solid/liquid separation. Some disadvantages of these products, e.g. unwanted residuals, are reduced by application of new water insoluble substances with flocculation active surface groups. Bench tests show that at present cationic modified glass fibres are the most efficient substances. Depending on various testing conditions noticable flocculation effects were measured.

Wasserlösliche polymere Flockungsmittel werden erfolgreich zur Verbesserung von fest/flüssig-Trennprozessen eingesetzt. Nachteile dieser Produkte, wie unerwünschte Restgehalte, können durch die Verwendung neuartiger, wasserunlöslicher Mittel zum Ausflocken reduziert werden. In Laborversuchen haben sich bisher als wirksamste Substanzen kationisch oberflächenmodifizierte Glasfasern erwiesen. An Modellsystemen wird in Abhängigkeit von verschiedenen Versuchsparametern ein deutlicher Flockungseffekt nachgewiesen.
