Synthesis and Reactions of 2,4,5-Trichloroimidazole and 2,2,4,5-Tetrachloro-2H-imidazoleVarious routes of synthesis are shown for the title compounds 3a and 4. A simple, high-yield preparation of the trichloroimidazole 3a proceeds via the tetrachloroimidazole 4 and its subsequent reduction. A number of reactions of these two chloroimidazoles is described. Tetrachloroimidazole 4, in particular, proves to be a reactive intermediate for new syntheses in the imidazole series.

Für die Titelverbindungen 3a und 4 werden verschiedene Synthesewege aufgezeigt. Eine einfache und ergiebige Darstellung des Trichlorimidazols 3a verläuft über das Tetrachlorimidazol 4 und dessen anschließende Reduktion. Eine Reihe von Reaktionen dieser beiden Chlorimidazole werden beschrieben. Insbesondere das Tetrachlorimidazol 4 erweist sich als reaktives Zwischenprodukt für neue Synthesen in der Imidazolreihe.
