    Notes: Crystal data for Mg3V10O28.28H2O were determined from oscillation, Weissenberg and precession photographs using Cu Kα radiation (λ = 1.54178 Å). The substance is triclinic, space group P{\bar 1}, Z = 2, and lattice constants a = 10.53 (5), b = 10.73 (6), c = 21.28 (9) Å, α = 90.2(1), β = 97.5(2) and γ = 104.1(3)°, V = 2310 (25) Å3 and the measured and calculated densities are 2.17(10) and 2.20 Mg m−3, respectively. The crystals were also characterized by TG/DTA measurements and vibrational spectroscopy.

    Description / Table of Contents: Coordination of Vanadium in the Phases 4 PbO · V2O5 and 8 PbO · V2O5It is demonstrated, using infrared spectroscopy, that the coordination of vanadium in the two binary phases 4 PbO · V2O5 and 8 PbO · V2O5 is tetrahedral. The spectra in the V—O stretching region closely resembles that of the lead(II) orthovanadate, Pb3(VO4)2.
    Notes: An Hand IR-spektroskopischer Messungen wird der Beweis erbracht, daß in den binären Phasen 4 PbO · V2O5 und 8 PbO · V2O5, tetraedrisch koordiniertes Vanadin vorliegt. Die Spektren sind im Bereich der V—O-Valenzschwingungen demjenigen des Blei(II)-Orthovanadats, Pb3(VO4)2, sehr ähnlich.

    Description / Table of Contents: Crystal Data, I.R. Spectrum, and Thermal Behaviour of Aluminum DecavanadateAl2V10O28 · 22 H2O crystallizes in the orthorhombic space group Acmm with Z = 4. The crystallographic data have been obtained from single crystal measurements and the unit cell parameters refined from powder diagrams. The infrared spectrum of the compound was recorded and interpreted and its thermal behaviour investigated by means of TG/DTA measurements. The thermal decomposition yields a 2:1 mixture of V2O5 and AlVO4.
    Notes: Al2V10O28 · 22 H2O kristallisiert in der orthorhombischen Raumgruppe Acmm mit Z = 4. Die kristallographischen Daten wurden aus Einkristallmessungen erhalten und die Gitterkonstanten mittels Pulverdiffraktometrie verfeinert. Das Infrarot-Spektrum der Substanz wurde gemessen und zugeordnet und das thermische Verhalten mittels TG/DTA-Messungen untersucht. Der thermische Abbau liefert ein 2:1-Gemisch von V2O5 und AlVO4.

    Description / Table of Contents: Raman Spectra of the Rare Earth OrthovanadateThe laser-Raman spectra of the tetragonal rare earth orthovanadates of the type LnVO4 (Ln = Pr to Lu) as well as those of ScVO4 and YVO4 has been recorded and interpreted with the aid of both, the site symmetry and the factor group analysis, using also IR data reported previously. The influence of the cations on the internal vibrations of the anion are discussed in detail.
    Notes: Die Laser-Raman-Spektren der tetragonalen Orthovanadate der Seltenen Erden des Typs LnVO4 (Ln = Pr bis Lu) sowie diejenigen von ScVO4 und YVO4 wurden aufgenommen und an Hand einer „Site-Symmetrie“-bzw. Faktorgruppenanalyse gedeutet. Auch Daten früher durchgeführter IR-Messungen wurden herangezogen. Der Einfluß der Kationen auf die inneren Anionenschwingungen wurde eingehend diskutiert.

    Description / Table of Contents: Preparation and Properties of Some New Arsenate and Vanadate Halogen ApatitesThe preparation of new apatite-like compounds of the composition Na2Nd2Pb6(RO4)6X2 (with R = As, V and X = Cl, Br and also R = P and X = Br) is reported. Crystallographic data for these as well as for the already known Na2Nd2Pb6(PO4)6Cl2 are determined from the corresponding X-ray powder diagrams. Also the infrared and Raman spectra were recorded and briefly discussed.
    Notes: Es wird die Darstellung neuer Apatit-Verbindungen der Zusammensetzung Na2Nd2Pb6(RO4)6X2 (mit R = As, V und X = Cl, Br sowie R = P und X = Br) beschrieben. Die kristallographischen Daten dieser Verbindungen und zum Vergleich auch diejenigen des bereits bekannten Na2Nd2Pb6(PO4)6Cl2 wurden aus den entsprechenden Pulverdiagrammen ermittelt. Die IR- und Raman-Spektren wurden aufgenommen und kurz besprochen.

    Description / Table of Contents: The Tetragonal Form of Lanthanum OrthovanadateThe existence of a tetragonal form of LaVO4 with a zircon-like structure is confirmed and some of its properties are reported. The unit cell parameters are determined from x-ray powder diagram and also the i.r. spectrum is recorded and discussed in comparison with those of structurally related compounds.
    Notes: Die Existenz einer tetragonalen Modifikation von LaVO4 mit Zirkonstruktur wird bestätigt und einige ihrer Eigenschaften mitgeteilt und besprochen. Die Kristallographischen Daten wurden aus dem Pulverdiagramm ermittelt und auch das IR-Spektrum wurde aufgenommen und im Vergleich zu anderen isostrukturellen Verbindungen diskutiert.
