Notes:
Cestode fish parasites were studied in 569 fish of 13 species, comprising 72 specimens of Hyperoplus lanceolatus caught between April and July 1987 and 497 other fish caught between December 1986 and March 1987 at 42° 45′ N, 9° 26′ W (Table I). Bothriocephalus was found for the first time in H. lanceolatus, though its prevalence was very low. The presence of these larvae in a species that forms part of the turbot's Scophthalmus maximus food chain suggests that they may infect the turbot via H. lanceolatus as well as via copepods.
