Notes:
Summary Four dialdehyde sesquiterpenoids (1–4) isolated from East AfricanWarburgia plants exhibit powerful antifeeding activity for larvae of the armyworms,Spodoptera exempta andS. littoralis. The hotness of these sesquiterpenes is associated with this activity. The specific absolute stereochemistry of these antifeedants appears to govern the hotness of the taste.
