Notes:
The fragmentation patterns of aromatic 3-methylisoxazolo- and 2-methyloxazolopyridines were investigated by high-resolution mass spectrometry and collisionally activated B/E and B2/E linked scans. The isoxazolopyridines give mass spectra near identical with those of the corresponding oxazolopyridines, both showing mainly a competitive loss of CO and CH3CN from the molecular ion. However, the ratio of these concomitant pathways depends substantially on the type of fusion between the five- and six-membered rings.
