Description / Table of Contents: Pigments and Fluorescent Compounds from Hypholoma fasciculare (Agaricales)Fruiting bodies of H. fasciculare (“Sulfur Tuft”) contain a mixture of the yellow hypholomines A and B (7, 8) and the colourless fasciculines A and B (14, 15), the latter showing blue fluorescence under u. v. light. The compounds are characterized as permethyl derivatives 5, 6, 12, and 13. Biogenetically they may be regarded as condensation products of dehydrohispidine (19) with styryl- or arylpyrones.
