Notes:
In this paper we describe a simple and reliable short-term fish cell culture technique, for obtaining chromosome spreads with minimum stress involving the specimens sampled. Fibroblasts were derived from primary cultures from the caudal fin of some economically important freshwater species: northern pike, Esox lucius L., goldfish, Carassius auratus L., and marine species: gilthead sea bream, Sparus aurata L. and cardinal fish, Apogon imberbisL.
