The cristalline products of the formula Si3Cl6C3H6 which are formed from CH3SiCl3 and (CH3)2SiCl2 at 700°C, proved to be identical. This Si-hexachloro-cyclocarbosilane can be converted into Si3Cl6C3Cl6 by photochlorination in boiling CCl4. The ring remains unattacked. Si3Cl6C3Cl6 is a white crystalline sublimable compound, which is completely hydrolysed in aqueous alkali (3% NaOH) according to This complete hydrolysis of the molecule provides a proof for the structural formula of the Si3Cl6C3H6. A partial cleavage of the C—Cl bond takes place, if more concentrated alkali is used (30% NaOH).

Die aus CH3SiCl3 und (CH3)2SiCl2 bei 700°C gewonnenen kristallinen Produkte der Formel Si3Cl6C3H6 sind identisch. Dieses Si-hexachlor-cyclocarbosilan läßt sich unter Erhaltung des Ringes in siedendem CCl4 vollständig zum Si3Cl6C3Cl6 photochlorieren. Es ist eine weiße, kristalline sublimierbare Verbindung, die bei der Hydrolyse mit 3proz. NaOH quantitativ gespalten wird nach Damit ist die Strukturformel des Si3Cl6C6H6 durch Chlorierung und Abbau der Molekel belegt. Bei höherer Alkalität (30proz. NaOH) erfolgt auch eine teilweise Aufspaltung der C—Cl-Bindung.
