Toluol-d8 und Indan dienten als interne Standards bei der quantitativen Analyse. Kohlenwasserstoffe mit Retentionsindizes zwischen 600 und 1200 konnten mit der Ionenchromatographie simultan und quantitativ noch in relativ geringen Konzentrationsbereichen bis 0.01 μg/ ml bestimmt werden. In der Praxis ist die Methode nützlich, wenn es in forensischen Fällen darum geht, komplexe Kohlenwasserstoffgemische (wie z. B. Petroleum) rasch zu analysieren.
    Notes: Summary A screening method for detecting volatile hydrocarbons in blood has been developed using gas chromatography/mass spectrometry with a wide-bore capillary column and a headspace method. Toluene-d8 and indan were used as the internal standards for quantitative analysis. Hydrocarbons with retention indices from 600 to 1200 were simultaneously and quantitatively detected in relatively low concentrations (0.01 μg/m1) in reconstructed ion chromatography. This method could prove useful in forensic cases in which urgent examination of complex hydrocarbon mixtures, e.g. petroleum components, is required.

    Description / Table of Contents: Zusammenfassung Pentadeuteriertes 4-Hydroxymethamphetamin (HMAMP-D5),1-(4-Hydroxyphenyl)-2-(methyl-D3-amino)propan-1,2-D2 wurde in hoher Ausbeute synthetisiert und als brauchbarer interner Standard im Rahmen der quantitativen Analyse von 4-Hydroxymethamphetamin, einem Hauptmetaboliten des Methamphetamins (MAMP) eingesetzt. Die gaschromatographisch-massenspektrometrische Untersuchung lieferte gut reproduzierbare Resultate. Weiterhin gelang die simultane Bestimmung von MAMP, Amphetamin(AMP), 4-Hydroxymethamphetamin(HAMP) und HMAMP in Körperflüssigkeiten bei Verwendung zweier interner Standards: HMAMP-D5 für HMAMP und HAMP, bzw. pentadeuteriertem Methamphetamin (1-Phenyl-2-(methyl-D3-amino)-propan-1,2-D2) für MAMP und AMP.
    Notes: Summary Pentodeuterated 4-hydroxymethamphetamine(HMAMP-d5),1-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-2-(methyl-d3-amino)-propane-1,2-d2 of high quality was prepared and proved to be a most useful internal standard for quantitative analyses of 4-hydroxymethamphetamine(HMAMP), a main metabolite of methamphetamine(MAMP). Highly reliable results were obtained by gas chromatography/mass spectrometry. Simultaneously we determined also MAMP, amphetamine (AMP), 4-hydroxyamphetamine(HAMP), and HMAMP in body fluids, using two internal standards, HMAMP-d5 for HMAMP and HAMP and pentodeuterated methamphetamine, 1-phenyl-2-(methyl-d3-amino)-propane-1,2-d2, for MAMP and AMP.

    Notes: Abstract A new approach to investigate the circumstances relating to carbon monoxide intoxication by analysing volatile hydrocarbons in the blood of cadavers is reported. Headspace gas chromatography/mass spectrometry was used to demonstrate the hydrocarbons. The results can be characterized into four categories depending on the compounds detected. In construction fire cases where no accelerants were found at the scene benzene, toluene and styrene were detected in the blood. In cases where gasoline was found in the fire debris surrounding the victim, high levels of benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, xylene isomers,n-hexane andn-heptane were detected in the blood. In cases where kerosene was found in the fire debris around the victim, benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, xylene isomers, C9-aromatics(n-propylbenzene, trimethylbenzene isomers),n-octane,n-nonane andn-decane were detected in the blood. In cases where the victim was found inside a gasoline-fuelled automobile filled with exhaust gas, benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, xylene isomers, C9-aromatics were found, but no aliphatic hydrocarbons such as components of petroleum. The analyses of the combustion gases of inflammable materials, exhaust gas, gasoline vapours and kerosene vapours were also performed to evaluate the results of the blood analyses. Consequently, some compounds are proposed as indicators to discriminate between inhaled gases i.e. styrene in common combustion gas,n-hexane andn-heptane as well as benzene, toluene and C9-aromatics in gasoline cases,n-nonane andn-octane as well as benzene, toluene and C9-aromatics in kerosene cases, and benzene, toluene, C9-aromatics but no aliphatic hydrocarbons in exhaust gas cases.
