(Perhalomethylthio)heterocycles, III. Perhalomethylthio Derivatives of Barbituric AcidBarbituric acid reacts with F3CSCl to from the 5-substituted compound 4. No further substitution of the remaining proton in 5-position is possible. Thus silver nitrate only reacts at a nitrogen atom, yielding the silver salt 6, which upon treatment with ethyljodide gives rise to the corresponding ethyl compound 7. 5-Ethyl-5-(trifluoromethylthio)barbituric acid (5) can only be obtained from 5-ethylbarbituric acid and F3CSCl. Characteristic spectroscopic data are mentioned (i. r., n. m. r., m. s.).
Notes:
Barbitursäure reagiert mit F3CSCl zur 5-substituierten Verbindung 4. Es gelingt nicht, das bei der entstehenden Substanz noch in 5-Stellung verbleibende Proton zu ersetzen. So bildet sich auch mit Silbernitrat nur ein Silbersalz 6 am Stickstoff, das sich mit Äthyljodid in die Äthylverbindung 7 überführen läßt. Die 5-Trifluormethylmercapto-5-äthyl-barbitursäure (5) erhält man nur durch Umsetzung der 5-Äthyl-barbitursäure mit F3CSCl. Die Verbindungen werden durch ihre Spektren identifiziert (IR, NMR, MS).
