    Description / Table of Contents: Preparation and Properties of Some Molybdenum (II) ThiocarboxylatesThe binuclear thiocarboxylates Mo2(CH3COS)4, Mo2(COS)4, and Mo2(C6H5CSS)4 have been prepared and characterized by their spectroscopic properties. With the exception of Mo2(C6H5CSS)4 investigations of vapourization (mass spectrometer) show the binuclear molecules in the vapour phase. For the u. v.- and i. r.-spectra an assignment of the observed bands is given. The magnetic measurements of the three compounds show no systematic differences.
    Notes: Die dimeren Thiocarboxylate Mo2(CH3COS)4, Mo2(C6H5COS)4 und Mo2(C6H5CSS)4 wurden dargestellt und spektroskopisch untersucht. Wie die Massenspektren zeigen, sind die Verbindungen mit Ausnahme von Mo2(C6H5CSS)4 molekular verdampfbar. Für die IR- und UV-Spektren wird eine Zuordnung der auftretenden Banden gegeben. Die magnetischen Meßwerte der drei Verbindungen zeigen keine systematischen Unterschiede.

    Description / Table of Contents: The Problem ot Axial Ligands of Binuclear Molybdenum(II) CarboxylatesThe spectroscopic properties (u.v., Raman) of binuclear molybdenum(II) dichloroacetate were investigated in solution in presence of potential ligands with different donicity. From these solutions stable compounds with the composition Mo2(Cl2HCCOO)4 · 2L(L = pyridine, DMSO) could be crystallized. The i.r. spectra of these adducts are also communicated. The investigations show, that the occupation of the axial positions lead to a weakening of the Mo—Mo bond.
    Notes: Das dimere Molybdän(Il)-Dichloroacetat wurde in Lösung in Gegenwart potentieller Liganden verschiedener Donizität UV- und Raman-spektroskopisch untersucht. Aus diesen Lösungen ließen sich stabile Addukte der Zusammensetzung Mo2(Cl2HCCOO)4 · 2 L (L = Pyridin, DMSO) gewinnen, deren IR-Spektren ebenfalls mitgeteilt werden. Die Messungen zeigen, daß die Besetzung der axialen Positionen zu einer Schwächung der Mo—Mo—Bindung führt.

    Description / Table of Contents: Thermal Properties and Formation of Hydrates of CoX2 · 2C5H5N (X : Cl-, Br-, I-)The thermal decomposition of the compounds CoX2 · 2C5H5N (X : Cl-, Br-, I-) is reinvestigated. CoBr2 · C5H5N is described for the first time. In an atmosphere saturated with water vapor CoX2 · 2C5H5N (X : Cl-, Br-) reacts to CoX2 · 2C5H5N · 4 H2 O (X : Cl-, Br-). The thermal, magnetic, and UV spectroscopic properties of these compounds are communicated.
    Notes: Der thermische Abbau der Verbindungen CoX2 · 2 C5H5N (X : Cl-, Br-, J-,) wird erneut untersucht. Dabei läßt sich das bisher unbekannte, CoBr2 · C5H5N isolieren. In einer mit Wasserdampf gesättigten Atmosphäre werden CoX2 · 2C5H5N (X : Cl-, Br-,) zu den isostrukturellen Hydraten CoX2 · 2C5H5N · 4 H2 (X : Cl-, Br-,) umgesetzt. Das thermische magnetische und UV-spektroskopische Verhalten dieser Verbindungen wird ebenfalls mitgeteilt.

    Notes: Die dimeren Chloroacetate Mo2(ClnH3-nCCOO)4 (n: 1-3) wurden dargestellt und spektroskopisch untersucht. Die Massenspektren zeigen die dimeren Molekeln in der Gasphase. Durch UV- und IR-Spektren sowie mit Hilfe magnetischer Messungen läßt sich eine Schwächung der Mo - Mo-Bindung mit zunehmender Chlor-Substitution nachweisen.

    Notes: W(Ac)2 wurde neu dargestellt. IR- und UV-spektroskopische Untersuchungen geben Hinweise auf die Struktur der Verbindung. Das IR-Spektrum läßt die bidentale Funktion der Acetat-Gruppe erkennen. Das UV-Spektrum zeigt das Vorliegen einer W—W-Bindung. Massenspektrometrische Untersuchungen und Lösungsverhalten deuten auf eine polymere Struktur hin.
