Summary Attention is directed to the possibility of the specific detection of substances with the aid of the exceptionally sensitive sense of smell of insects. A tested apparatus is described (including diagrams) which served as the odor analyzer, and which by the capture of attracted male insects (Prodenia litura) permits the quantitative evaluation of the female enticement substance with simple means.

Résumé Indications sur la possibilité d'identification spécifique des substances fondée sur l'extraordinaire sens de l'odorat des insectes. Description d'un analyseur d'odeurs (Odouranalyser) éprouvé d'après figures. La capture d'insectes mâles (Prodenia litura) permet d'évaluer quantitativement les odeurs femelles qui les attirent à l'aide de moyens simples.

Zusammenfassung Auf die Möglichkeit des spezifischen Nachweises von Substanzen mit Hilfe der außerordentlich feinen Geruchsorgane von Insekten wird hingewiesen. Eine erprobte Apparatur wird als Lockstoffanalysator (Odouranalyser) an Hand von Abbildungen beschrieben, die durch Abfangen angelockter männlicher Insekten (Prodenia litura) die quantitative Auswertung der weiblichen Lockstoffe mit einfachen Mitteln erlaubt.
