    Description / Table of Contents: η3-Cyclopropenyl and η3-Oxocyclobutenyl Iron Complexes. The Crystal Structures of (η3-C3Ph3)Fe(CO)2NO and (η3-C3Ph3CO)Fe(CO)2NOThe title compounds are formed by the reaction of [C3Ph3]Cl with Na[Fe(CO)3NO] together with low yields of C3Ph3H and 2,3-diphenyl-1-indenone. They have been characterized by their X-ray structures, IR, 1H and 13C NMR spectra. Substitution of one CO by PPh3 in (η3-C3Ph3CO)Fe(CO)2NO (2a) enhances the polarity of the keto group in the ring thus allowing alkylation with formation of the cation [η4-C4Ph3OMe)Fe(CO)PPh3(NO)]+ of 7.
    Notes: Die Titelverbindungen entstehen bei der Umsetzung von [C3Ph3]Cl mit Na[Fe(CO)3NO] zusammen mit kleinen Ausbeuten an C3Ph3H und 2,3-Diphenyl-1-indenon. Sie wurden durch ihre Röntgenstrukturen, IR-, 1H-NMR- und 13C-NMR-Spektren charakterisiert. Substitution einer CO-Gruppe durch PPh3 in (η3-C3Ph3CO)Fe(CO)2NO (2a) verstärkt die Polarität der Ketogruppe im Ring und erlaubt die Alkylierung zum Kation [η4-C4Ph3OMe)Fe(CO)PPh3(NO)]+ von 7.

    Description / Table of Contents: Cyclopropenes as Complex Ligands: η4-Vinylketene Complexes of Manganese, Vanadium, and Cobalt; Preparative and X-ray Crystallographic ResultsThe reaction of 1,2,3-triphenylcyclopropene with (η5-C5H5)Mn(CO)3, (η5-C5H5)V(CO)4, (η5-C5H5)Co(CO)2 and Co2(CO)8 yields via ring opening and carbonylation the new compounds LMn(C5H5)CO (1), LV(C5H5)(CO)2 (2), LCo(C5H5) (3, 4) and L2Co2(CO)4 (6) (L = η4-C3Ph3HCO), respectively. In the reaction with (η5-C5H5)Co(CO)2 additionally the formation of 2,3-diphenylindenone (5) is observed. The X-ray structures of 1, 3 and 5 have been determined.
    Notes: Die Umsetzung von 1,2,3-Triphenylcyclopropen mit (η5-C5H5)Mn(CO)3, (η5-C5H5)V(CO)4, (η5-C5H5)Co(CO)2 und Co2(CO)8 ergibt unter Ringöffnung und Carbonylierung die neuen Verbindungen LMn(C5H5)CO (1), LV(C5H5)(CO)2 (2), LCo(C5H5) (3, 4) bzw. L2CO2(CO)4 (6) (L = η4-C3Ph3HCO). Bei der Reaktion mit (η5-C5H5)Co(CO)2 wird außerdem die Bildung von 2,3-Diphenylindenon (5) beobachtet. Die Röntgenstrukturen von 1, 3 und 5 wurden bestimmt.

    Description / Table of Contents: Transition Metal Fulvene Complexes, XI1) Synthesis and Properties of Fulvene Complexes of Dicarbonyl(cyclopentadienyl)manganeseTricarbonyl(cyclopentadienyl)manganese reacts photochemically with fulvenes (I-V) to give mixtures of mono- and binuclear compounds (1-3), of which one or both of the ring double bonds are coordinated to a C5H5Mn(CO)2 group. The iron complex (diphenylfulvene)Fe2 (CO)5, so far only available in 0.4% yield, is now easily available in 45% yield by exchange of the fulvene ligand from (diphenylfulvene)(CH3C5H4) Mn(CO)2 (1e) to Fe2 (CO)9.
    Notes: Tricarbonyl(cyclopentadienyl)mangan reagiert photochemisch mit Fulvenen (I-V) zu Gemischen von ein- und zweikernigen Verbindungen (1-3), bei denen eine oder beide Ringdoppelbindungen an eine C5H5Mn(CO)2-Einheit koordiniert sind. Der bisher nur in 0.4 proz. Ausbeute isolierbare Eisenkomplex (Diphenylfulven)Fe2 (CO)5 wurde durch Übertragung des Fulvenliganden von (Diphenylfulven)(CH3C5H4)Mn(CO)2 (1e) auf Fe2 (CO)9 in 45% Ausbeute zugänglich.
