When during the electrolytic reduction of a solution of V2O5 in hydrofluoric acid the oxidation state of the vanadium has become +2.5, V2F5 · 7 H2O precipitates. As its powder pattern shows, it is isotypic with Fe2F5 · 7 H2O. By heating in vacuo it is dehydrated to V2F5. - The compounds (NH4)2VF4 · 2 H2O and KVF3 together with some KF can be obtained from a solution of VCl2 · 4 H2O in water. By reaction of VCl2 · 2 CH3OH with liquid (HF)x a VF2 is formed, to which at least 0.2 HF are bound. The magnetic susceptibilities of the compounds were measured.

Wird in Flußsäure gelöstes V2O5 elektrolytisch reduziert, so fällt aus genügend konzentrierten Lösungen beim Erreichen der Oxydationsstufe +2,5 des Vanadins V2F5 · 7 H2O aus, das sich zu V2F5 entwässern läßt. Nach seinem Debyeogramm ist V2F5 · 7 H2O isotyp dem Fe2F5 · 7 H2O. Aus wäßriger Lösung von VCl2 · 4. H2O lassen sich (NH4)2VF4 · 2 H2O und ein KVF3 darstellen, das nicht frei von KF zu erhalten ist. Bei der Umsetzung von VCl2 · 2 CH3OH mit kondensiertem Fluorwasserstoff entsteht ein VF2, das noch mindestens 0,2 HF gebunden hält. Die magnetischen Suszeptibilitäten der Verbindungen wurden gemessen.
