The influence of fluoride on stress corrosion cracking (SCC) of NiTi orthodontic wireswas investigated using slow strain rate test (SSRT) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Theresults indicated that fluoride significantly accelerated the stress corrosion cracking of NiTiorthodontic wires. The fractographies of NiTi orthodontic wires exhibited striation pattern
