Notes: Water soluble aromatic diazonium double salts, p-diazodiphenylamine chloride zinc chloride (DZS-1) and p-diazoanisol chloride zinc chloride (DZS-2), have been evaluated as photobleachable dyes for contrast enhancement lithography. After testing the bleaching characteristics, aqueous solutions of DZS-1 and poly(vinyl alcohol) were used as a contrast enhancement material. Thermal stability, resist contrast, exposure parameters and other bleaching characteristics of the photobleachable membranes were investigated. A. commercial i-line photoresist was used to evaluate the contrast ratio of the DZS-1/PVA CEL layer. The contrast ratio obtained in this investigation is 1.67.

Description / Table of Contents: Copolymere aus 2-Hydroxyethylmethacrylat (HEMA) and Styrol (St) mit verschiedenen HEMA-Gehalten wurden synthetisiert.
Notes: Copolymers of 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate (HEMA) and styrene (St) with various HEMA contents were synthesized in this investigation. Amphiphilic membranes were fabricated by using one layer of hydrophilic poly(HEMA) and one layer of hydrophobic poly(HEMA-co-St) in the presence of a photosensitizer. The oxygen permeability and the water penetration of the amphiphilic membranes with various HEMA contents were estimated. The dependence of the mole fraction of HEMA on hydrophilicity and binding forces on the surface of the amphiphilic membranes were investigated. Characteristics of the amphiphilic membranes on the enzyme immobilization were compared with those of traditional two-layer systems. The response time, stability and pH dependences of the amphiphilic enzyme membrane were also evaluated.

Notes: A new method for preparing gradient refractive index (GRIN) rods by using the swollen-gel polymerization technique was elaborated. The polymerization of MMA (methyl methacrylate) with BSA (benzyl salicylate) was carried out in the presence of BPO (benzoyl peroxide) in a PMMA (poly(methyl methacrylate)) tube. The three-dimensional refractive index profile of plastic rods was estimated. The dependence of optical properties of the GRIN rod on swelling time, swelling temperature, polymerization temperature and MMA/BSA feed ratio were investigated. Image transmission without distortion is observed through the GRIN rods fabricated in this investigation.
