Description / Table of Contents:
The Primary Products of the Carbohydrazide/Chlorophosphorane Reaction:. 1,3,4,2λ5-OxadiazaphospholinePhosphorus pentachloride and other at least difunctional chlorophosphoranes react with acylhydrazines and with N-acyl-N′-phenylhydrazines to give 1,3,4,2λ5-oxadiazaphospholines 3. Pentacoordination at phosphorus is unexpected stable in these rings. The compounds are characterized by n. m. r. and mass spectrometry. They are more or less thermolabile and decompose eliminating phosphine oxide or a phosphorus oxide chloride. Electron releasing substituents at the phosphorus and electron withdrawing substituents at the nitrogen atom increase the rate of decomposition. With triethylamine the compounds 3 loose hydrogen chloride and yield the dimers 4 of 1,3,4,2λ5-oxadiazaphospholes.
Notes:
