Abstract We report three cases of small bowel lipoma. The clinical presentation in each of them was gastrointestinal bleeding and anemia. Diagnosis was made by a characteristic radiological pattern on conventional contrast media filling and CT examinations. A constant, well-defined filling defect, changeable in size by compression, was seen on fluoroscopy. CT showed a homogeneous fat-density intraluminal mass, easily recognisable by the sharp contrast between the attenuation values of the tumour and that of the surrounding contrast material in the lumen. Two cases underwent surgical excisio and one case was treated conservatively. Few cases of lipomas in small bowel have been reported. flic rarity of this condition, together with the virtually pathognomonic features on radiological procedures, prompted this report.
