Conclusions 1. The dose dependences of the relative variation in the ultimate tensile strength of reactor graphite specimens were plotted for the irradiation temperature range from 3A0 to 800°K and fluence values of up to 5·1021 neutrons/cm2. 2. It was found that the radiation hardening effect is stronger in tensile tests than in compressive tests due to the fact that the strength is less affected under irradiation by the natural stress raisers consisting of pores and cracks.
