Notes: Abstract Spectral and integrated photoconductivities in chromium-disilicide epitaxial films grown on single-layer silicon substrates have been studied in the photon energy range 0.5–1.6 eV. The region of the photoconductivity maximum observed at 1.23 eV corresponds to the third direct interband transition in chromium disilicide at 0.9–0.95 eV. Possible reasons for the weak photoconductivity signal in the region of the fundamental absorption edge are analyzed.

Notes: Conclusions 1. Reinforcing of nickel alloys KhN70Yu and ÉP202 with filaments of molybdenum alloy TsM2A in amounts larger than 20% increases the short-term strength at 1000–1100°C; reinforcing with tungsten filaments results in a higher strength at 1100–1200°C. The ductility and toughness of reinforced materials decrease somewhat with increasing volume percent of filament. 2. The change in the ultimate strength and yield strength of reinforced nickel alloys at 1100–1200°C with the volume percent of filament conforms with the law of mixtures. 3. Diffusion penetration of small amounts of Ni, Cr, and other elements from the matrix into the filament of molybdenum alloy TsM2A and tungsten lowers the recrystallization temperature of the filament by about 200°C and weakens these materials. 4. In nickel alloys reinforced with filament of the molybdenum alloy there is rather intensive diffusion of molybdenum into the matrix, along with a change in the phase composition, an increase in the width of the transition zone, and solution of the filament. Materials with tungsten filament have a higher structural stability and are more promising as materials for long-term service.

Notes: Conclusions 1. Composites with a Ni−Cr matrix are characterized by embrittlement and negligible solution of the tungsten filament. An effective method of slowing down recrystallization of the filament and eliminating pore formation is alloying of the matrix with refractory metals of groups VA and VIA, especially tungsten, and also the use of complex alloys for the matrix such as alloys of the ZhS6K and TsZh24 type. 2. With a cobalt matrix, unlike a nickel matrix, the tungsten filament is embrittled much less, and no acclerated recrystallization occurs. However, the serious drawback of this type of matrix is the intensive solution of the filament during holding at high temperatures. 3. No interlayer of intermediate phase is formed at the interface in a matrix of heat-resistant alloys containing up to ∼0.05% C and 〈4% (Ti+Al) after annealing at 1100° for 1000 h. When the carbon concentration is raised to ∼0.10% an interlayer of carbide phase of the M6C type is formed, and with 〉7% (Ti+Al) a double interlayer of carbide phase and γ' phase. An interlayer of Co7(W, Cr)6 is formed with a cobalt alloy matrix.
