    Intramolecular short hydrogen bond: the structure of benzenesulphonylhydrazone derivative of salicylaldehyde (1995)

    Notes: Abstract The title compound crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P21/c, witha=10.449(2),b=11.555(1),c=10.854(2) Å, β=90.46(2)° andV=1310.3 Å3. ForZ=4 and F.W.=274.32 the calculated density is 1.39 g/cm3. The structure was solved by direct method, and refined by full-matrix least-squares methods toR=0.034 for 3013 observed reflections. The stereochemistry of the 6/5-ring-H-bonded moiety is found to be planar, the rings being fused at the C(8)−C(13) bond. The-NSO2Ph group is linked with the fused-6/5 H-bonded ring through the N(4)−S(1) bond and the phenyl ring in the group is disposed perpendicular to the former ring system. The structure of the ligand appears to be suitable for bis-chelate formation with metals such as Cu(II) or Ni(II).

    Notes: Synthesis of Imidodiphosphates of Aluminum, Gallium, Indium, Tin, and Titanium.Me3SiN[P(O)Cl2]2, (1) and Me3SnN[P(O)Cl2]2 (2) are synthesized from NaN[P(O)Cl2]2 and Me3SiCl or Me3SnCl, respectively. Treatment of 1 with AlCl3, GaCl3 InCl3, Me2SnCl2, and TiCl4 yields (3), (4), (5), (6), and (7), respectively. Reaction of LiN[P(O)Ph2]2 with TiCl4 leads to (8). NMR spectra demonstrate that the tetrachloroimidodiphosphate ligand coordinates through the oxygen atoms towards the metal atom.

    Notes: By a condensation reaction of tBu2Si(OH)2(L) with titanium and germanium tetrahalides several eight-membered titanium and germanium cyclosiloxane compounds were prepared in polar solvents. These were crystallized and identified by the usual physical techniques (1H, 13C and 29Si NMR spectroscopy, x-ray diffraction and mass spectrometry). Raman and IR spectra were also recorded, which confirmed the structure obtained by x-ray diffraction. The rings are well characterized by breathing modes which appear around 620-660 cm-1 and Si-O-M stretching-bending modes which appear around 950-1000 cm-1. The vibrational modes characterizing the tert- butyl group are weakly coupled with those of the heterocycles. The corresponding observed bands are close to those observed for (L).
