The complexchemical behaviour of the isomeric C-phenyläthanolamines towards copper(II) salts was studied. The tendency to complexing varies not only with the nature of the äthanolamines but also with the species of the copper salts and the reaction media. Especially the 1-phenyl-2-aminoäthanol forms numerous complexes of different types (electrolytes and nonelectrolytes), in which the copper shows the coordination number 4 resp. 6. Besides complex compounds with only one nucleua were also many binuclar compounds observed; the latter are prefered by the other C-phenyläthanolamines.

Es wurde das komplexchemische Verhalten der isomeren C-Phenyl-äthanolamine und ihrer N, N-Diäthylderivate gegenüber Kupfer(II)-Salzen untersucht. Dabei ergab sich, daß die Neigung zur Komplexbildung nicht nur mit der Natur des jeweilig eingesetzten Äthanolamins sondern auch mit der der verwendeten Kupfersalze und Reaktionsmedien sehr variiert und neben anderem sogar reine Innerkomplexe entstehen. Das 1-Phenyl-2-aminoäthanol bildet besonders zahlreiche Komplexverbindungen verschiedenen Typs (Elektrolyte und Nichtelektrolyte), wobei das Kupfer sich jenachdem koordinativ 6- bzw. 4-zählig betätigt und neben Einkern- auch Zweikernkomplexe vom Alkoholattyp entstehen. Letztere treten bevorzugt bei den anderen Äthanolaminen, speziell den N, N-Diäthylaminoäthanolen auf und unterscheiden sich z. T. nicht nur in der Farbe sondern auch im Magnetismus.
