Photofragmentation of 1,2-Dithiooxalates, Dithio-, and TrithiocarbonatesOn u. v. irradiation the title compounds undergo efficient fragmentation. Under liberation of carbonmonoxide S,S-diarylesters of 1,2-dithiooxalic acid and the corresponding esters of dithiocarbonic acid form diaryldisulfides. S,S-diaryltrithiocarbonates react in a similar way by loss of carbonmonosulfide.
Notes:
S.S-Diaryl-dithiooxalate und -carbonate fragmentieren bei Belichtung unter Eliminierung von CO zu Diaryldisulfiden. Analog wird bei der Photolyse der Diaryltrithiocarbonate unter Diaryldisulfid-Bildung CS abgespalten.
