Conclusions The high-alumina products obtained from batches containing Novoselits kaolin, fired at 1580–1600°C, possess adequate density and strength, high refractoriness under load, and high creep values at service temperatures; the creep values are half those for articles based on Latnensk clay, made by the same technology. Articles made from batches in which the clay was replaced by kaolin, with an addition of a combined grist mixture of chamotte and kaolin showed a reduction in porosity, an increase in strength, and a sharp reduction in creep at high temperatures.
