Notes:
Summary By means of implantation of autografts of spontaneous mouse mammary tumors, mixed with various allogeneic tissues, it was found that normal tissue (spleen), with only normal alloantigen, permits the growth of autografts, whereas leukemia L 1210, with strong allogeneic tumor specific transplantation antigen, effectively suppresses the growth of autografts. Sarcoma 180 suppresses autografts only when the host was treated with an immunopotentiator (lentinan). It was suggested as possibility that the reaction of specific lymphoid cells with allogeneic tumor specific transplantation antigen, but not with normal alloantigen, can be injurious to autografts.
