    Notes: Zusammenfassung NachSpâth undPailer gibt es drei mögliche Strukturformeln (I–III) für Emetin. Von diesen wurde (II) durch Ozonolyse des Hoffmannschen Degradationsproduktes (IV) ausgeschlossen. Auf der Grundlage von (I) wird eine neue Strukturformel des Cyanintyps für die Rubremetiniumsalze vorgeschlagen (V). Diese erscheint dadurch gestützt, daß deren Reduktionsprodukt einen Pyrrolkern enthält.

    Notes: Zusammenfassung Die Verbindung (I) wurde über die Zwischenstufen (II)-(V) synthetisch aufgebaut. Die Oxydation von (I) mit Mercuriacetat liefertedl-Rubremetiniumbromid, dessen Absorptionsspektrum mit demjenigen vond-Rubremetriniumbromid, dargestellt aus Emetin, identisch ist. Die heute als richtig angenommene Strukturformel von Emetin wird dadurch bestätigt.

    Notes: Résumé L'aspidospermine est représentée par la formule partielle II, dans laquelle un groupement indolique est définitivement absent. D'après les résultats du titrage électrométrique effectué sur l'aspidospermine et sur la désacétylaspidospermine et en comparant leur absorption dans l'ultra-violet et leurs réactions colorimétriques avec celles de plusieurs amines secondaires aromatiques cyclisées, il ressort que des deux atomes d'azote qui font partie de l'alkaloïde, l'un est acétylé et attaché au noyau aromatique, tandis que l'autre est tertiaire et fortement basique.

    Notes: Zusammenfassung Dehydrierung des Emetin-Abbauproduktes (II) unter milden Bedingungen liefert das Pyridinderivat (III), das durch Salpetersäure zu 5-Äthyl-pyridin-2,4-dicarbonsäure oxydiert wird. Daraus folgt, da\ der Ring D im Emetin sechsgliedrig ist und da\ dieses Alkaloid die Struktur (I) besitzt.
