Abstract Nuclear emulsions have been used to investigate the angular correlation of the charged particles accompanying uranium fission produced by 660 MeV protons. The correlation existing between the directions at which particles and fragments are emitted may be accounted for completely by the recoil effect of the evaporating charged particles, assuming that the greater part of the α-particles and protons evaporate off before fission occurs.
