Supersaturated monomolecular solutions of Hg(OH)2 up to a concentration of 10-2M can be obtained by adding Cu(NO3)2 to a solution of the mercury complex of EDTA, introducing two NaOH and running the mixture through an anion exchanger. Solutions so obtained have been titrated with HNO3 in order to obtain the protonation curve of Hg(OH)2. Measurements were carried out at 13° C, 20° C, 30° C, 40° C and with solution containing various amounts of NaNO3. The results extrapolated to zero ionic strength are:.
