    Notes: Abstract The electrical conductivity in liquid ammonia of Co(NH3)6(ClO4)3, Co(NH3)6(NO3)3, Co(NH3)5F(ClO4)2, Co(NH3)5F(NO3)2, and Co(NH3)5Cl(ClO4)2 has been measured between 2×10−4 and 10−2 M at temperatures varying from −40 to −75°C. In solutions more concentrated than 6×10−4 M there is evidence that the only ionic species are univalent ions. The conductance data have been fitted to the Fuoss-Onsager-Skinner equation to give Λ0 for the univalent complexes andK A 1 , the association constant of the uncharged complex ion pair. The quantities ΔH o and ΔS o were evaluated from the temperature dependence ofK A 1 . Walden products for the univalent complexes have been calculated and are discussed.

    Description / Table of Contents: Ein Studium der sichtbaren und IR-Spektren und der magnetischen Momente der Additionsverbindungen des Quecksilberoxids mit einigen MII-Übergangsmetallselenaten hat gezeigt, daß die Metallionen in diesen Verbindungen eine fast oktaedrische Umgebung haben. MII-Koordination an das Selenation wurde nur gefunden in Verbindungen mit einem Quecksilbergehalt unter dem des basischen Selenats HgSeO4 · 2 HgO. In seinem Ligandenfeldverhalten zeigt HgO viel Ähnlichkeit mit Wasser.
    Notes: A study of the visible and infrared spectra and the magnetic moments of the addition compounds of mercury(II) oxide with some MII transition metal selenates has revealed that the metal ions in these compounds have nearly octahedral environment. MII-coordination to the selenate ion has only been found in compounds with a HgO content below that of the basic selenate HgSeO4 · 2 HgO. Mercury oxide in its ligand field behaviour was found to resemble water closely.

    Description / Table of Contents: Ein Studium der langwelligen IR-Spektren (700 - 10 cm-1) der zweiwertigen Übergangsmetall-HgO-Komplexe hat die frühere Schlußfolgerung bestätigt, daß Verbindungen der Formel MS(e)O4 · 2 HgO · (H2O) in ihrer Struktur große Ähnlichkeit aufweisen mit HgSO4 · 2 HgO, während ein niedrigerer Gehalt an HgO auf ein Zerbrechen des HgO-Netzwerks und auf Koordination des Übergangsmetallions an das Sulfat- oder Selenatanion hinweist.
    Notes: A study of the far infrared spectra (700 - 10 cm-1) of the divalent transition metal HgO complexes has confirmed the earlier conclusion that the compounds with formula MIIS(e)O4 · 2 HgO · (H2O) resemble HgSO4 · 2 HgO closely in structure, whereas a lower HgO content indicates a breaking of the HgO framework and coordination of the M2+-ions to the oxo anions.
