Conclusions 1. Derivatives of uridylyl-(5′ → N)-phenylalanine were obtained, methylated on the ring nitrogen N3 and the phosphoric acid radical. 2. In studies of acid, alkaline, and enzyme hydrolysis of these compounds, it was established that CH3-groups in position 3 of uracil do not exert a significant influence on reactivity of the phosphoamide bond in uridylyl-(5′ → N)-phenylalanines. 3. Methylation of phosphate radicals stabilizes the phosphoamide bond and renders the 5-phosphoester bond more labile.
