Notes: Synthesis and Properties of Lithium Tetrakis(trimethylsilyl)aluminate ComplexesChlorotrimethylsilane reacts with aluminium and lithium in ether in the presence of mercury to form lithium tetrakis(trimethylsilyl)aluminate, coordinated with diethyl ether, tetrahydrofurane, or dimethoxyethane. Unsolvated lithium tetrakis(trimethylsilyl)aluminate results by repeated sublimation of the ether adduct. The IR, Raman, and NMR spectra are discussed.

(Organometalphosphine)tetracarbonyliron ComplexesPentacarbonyliron reacts on u. v. irradiation with tri(tert-butyl)-, tris(trimethylsilyl)-, tris(tri-methylgermyl)-, and tris(trimethylstannyl)phosphine with displacement of one CO-ligand to give the corresponding tris[(triorganoelement-IVa)phosphine]tetracarbonyliron complexes. The same compounds can also be synthesized by elimination of pentacarbonyliron from enneacarbonyldiiron in the presence of the tris(triorganoelement-IVa)phosphines. The i. r., 1H n. m. r., and 31P n. m. r. spectroscopic data of the complexes are reported and discussed.

Description / Table of Contents: Synthesis and Vibrational Spectra of Trimethylsilyl-, Trimethylgermyl-and Trimethylstannyl-tert-butylphosphinesTrimethylchlorosilane reacts with magnesium and di-tert-butylchlorophosphine, tert-butyl-dichlorophosphine, or PCl3 in tetrahydrofurane to form di tert-butyl(trimethylsilyl)phosphine, tert-butylbis(trimethylsilyl) phosphine, or tris(trimethylsilyl)phosphine respectively in high yields. By reaction between these organosilylphosphines and trimethylgermanim chloride or trimethyltin chloride the corresponding trimethylgermanium - or trimethyltin-phosphines are formed. The i.r., and Raman spectra are discussed.

Tris(trimethylsilyl)phosphin in hohen Ausbeuten. Durch Umsetzung dieser Organosilylphosphine mit Trimethylgermaniumchlorid oder Trimethylzinnchlorid erhält man die entsprechenden Trimethylgermanium-bzw. Trimethylzinn-phosphine.
