    Description / Table of Contents: Zusammenfassung Will man im Gegensatz zu Studienin vitro das reaktionskinetische Verhalten des lichtemittierenden Systems der Leuchtbakterien(Achromobacter fischeri) in vivo untersuchen, so mu\ die Bindung dieses Systems an den Stoffwechsel der Bakterienzelle berücksichtigt werden. Änderungen des Leuchtreaktionsablaufes als Folge physikalisch-chemischer Störfaktoren innerhalb oder au\erhalb der Zelle müssen in Wechselwirkung mit dem Gesamtstoffwechsel betrachtet werden. Sauerstoffentzug in verschiedenen Stadien der Entwicklung bewirkte bei Wiederbelüftung von der Pausenzeit und vom Populationszustand abhÄngige EinregelvorgÄnge des gestörten Reaktionsgleichgewichtes, die umso ausgeprÄgter sind, je geringer die Koppelung des Leuchtsystems an den Metabolismus der Zelle ist. Eine Entkopplung des Leuchtsystems kann durch direkte Blockierung der Atmung mit KCN oder indirekt durch NÄhrstoffentzug erreicht werden. Die VernachlÄssigung des Leuchtsystems in wachsenden Populationen sowie das Reaktionsverhalten nach verschiedenartigen Eingriffen bestÄtigt die Vorstellung, da\ das Leuchtsystem einen Nebenweg im allgemeinen Stoffwechsel darstellt. UV-Bestrahlung bewirkte Herabsetzung des Leuchtens mit Langzeiterholung. In diesem Zusammenhang wurde ein an die Anwesenheit von Sauerstoff gebundener indirekter Milieueffekt gefunden. Bestrahlung der Bakterien in Abwesenheit von Sauerstoff hatte keine schÄdigende Wirkung.
    Notes: Summary Reaction kinetics of the light-emitting system of luminous bacteria(Achromobacter fischeri) in vivo show different behaviour from that observed inin vitro systems because of the participation of the system in the metabolism of the bacterial cell. Changes in the process of light production through physical or chemical influence (external or internal) should be investigated in connection with the total metabolic scheme. Anoxia at different ages of the bacterial population and reaeration after a period of time causes more or less damped oscillating adjustment of the disturbed equilibrium. Irradiation with UV-light has affected this system directly, and indirectly through the nutritious environment, but only in the presence of oxygen. The results are discussed with the conception that the luminous system is a bypass in metabolism.

    Notes: Summary Some experiments concerning the photochemical production of condensation nuclei are described. Preliminary measurements of filtered atmospheric air, initially free of particles yielded high concentrations of particles by reactions in the dark when the air was previously irradiated by sunlight. In further investigations a definite composition of pure gases was used. The formation of nitric acid particles from NO2 in pure nitrogen of different relative humidities in the dark and under influence of light was investigated. No particle formation was found which could be correlated to any production of nitric acid nuclei. Even within a spectral region in which photolysis of NO2 takes place no HNO3-nucleation could be found. The particles detected under certain conditions of irradiation originate from impurities in the walls of the reaction chamber. Particle growth in an irradiated mixture of N2 and NO2 with benzene is demonstrated and the mean radius of particles is calculated from measurements with a diffusion battery.
