    Notes: Abstract We have studied the effects of promoting sulfated zirconia catalysts by addition of transition metals. We have found that the addition of Ni causes an activity enhancement comparable to that caused by the addition of Fe and Mn. The TPD/DRIFTS results show that the catalytic activity does not correlate with either Brønsted or Lewis acidity. The high isomerization activity of these catalysts is explained in terms of a bifunctional mechanism in which the metal promoters are responsible for an enhancement in the surface concentration of olefins rather than an enhanced acidity.

    Description / Table of Contents: Abstract Измерена кинетика разложения аммиака на поликристаллической Pt в интервале температур 600–1700 К и при давлениях от 1,3 до 93 кПа, которая подчиняется уравнению Пангмюра-Хиншельвуда для скорости мономолекулярной реакции. Это уравнение скорости, как уже ранее установлено, соответствует данным в том же интервале температур, но для давлений от 2 до 1400 Па.
    Notes: Abstract The kinetics of ammonia decomposition on polycrystalline Pt at temperatures between 600 and 1700 K and at pressures between 1.3 and 93 kPa were measured and correlated with a Langmuir-Hinshelwood unimolecular reaction rate expression. This rate expression had previously been shown to fit data in the same temperature range for pressures between 2 and 1400 Pa.

    Description / Table of Contents: Abstract В предыдущей статье [1] полагали, что частицы Cu2+, взаимодействующие с носителем, вызывают повышение активности катализаторов CuCl2, используемых в реакции оксигидрохлорирования метана (CH4+HCl+O2→ хлорметаны). Эти частицы детектировали на носителях Al2O3 и TiO2, но не были обнаружены на SiO2. Приводятся результаты исследований ЭПР, которые дают непосредственную характеристику этих частиц и хорошо согласуются с наблюдаемыми изменениями активности.
    Notes: Abstract In a recent paper [1] we proposed that a Cu2+ species interacting with the support was responsible for maintaining the catalytic activity of CuCl2 catalysts used in the methane oxyhydrochlorination reaction (CH4+HCl+O2→ chloromethanes). This species was detected on Al2O3 and TiO2 supports but it did not appear on SiO2. In this paper we report EPR results which provide a direct characterization of this species and correlate well with the observed trends in activity.
