Correspondence analysis (CA) was applied to lakewater data in order to study the effects of acidic deposition on the geochemical composition of lakes in the Adirondacks. The lake chemistry data analyzed were taken from the Eastern Lake Survey - Phase I (ELS-I) conducted by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. CA was used to identify ‘outlying’ lake samples as well as ‘superflous’ and ‘unresolved’ analytes. Correlational relationship among analytes were also examined.
