Notes:
The discovery of methods for regulating stereoisomerism in polymer synthesis, and thereby controlling polymer properties, is one of the most significant recent developments in polymer science. Polypropylenes and propylene copolymers are the outstanding products resulting already. This review includes both European and American contributions from the beginning of the idea. It emphasizes researches on polymerization of vinyl ethers and of 1-olefms which have been most important in development of the basic concepts of stereoregulation. The review is based in part upon a paper presented at the Canadian Polymer Forum in Ottawa in September 1965.
