Description / Table of Contents:
Notes:
Summary Direct treatment of injured organs, e.g. liver, spleen or kidney, with ultrasonic radiation of 0.8 W/cm stops parenchymal bleeding from a 3 cm long and 0.3 mm deep cut within 30–60 s. No organ suture. After resetting of the organs suture and ultrasonic treatment of the abdominal wall. Results: after 6 days opening of the abdominal site and exposure of the treated organs: non-irritating, wafe-thin scars in liver, spleen and kidneys, no pathologic macroscopic organ changes. Postoperative treatment of the skin sutures led to healing by first intention. For the untreated experimental animal: pathologic organ changes and death.
