Notes:
Polycaprolactone samples were vacuum irradiated and subsequently immersed in aqueous methylamine solution, pH 10, and saline water solutions, Weight loss, solution viscosity, thermal analysis, tensile properties, and scanning electron microscopy were used to study the effects of immersion time and radiation. Irradiation accelerates all studied degradative and damaging processes taking place during exposure to the various environments. Degradation mechanisms in unirradiated and irradiated materials are discussed.
