Investigations on Hydrogen Transfer, XXVII. Influence of Ligands in Tertiary Phosphines on the Rate of Hydrogenation of Olefines with Rhodium Complexes in Homogenous SolutionIn an investigation of the homogenous hydrogenation with complexes of the rhodium-phosphine type, the rate of hydrogenation of 1-hexene are considered and discussed in relation to the substituents in the tertiary phosphines. The phosphine-rhodium-complexes are produced in situ from μ-dichloro-bis-1.5-hexadiene-dirhodium(I) (9) and tertiary phosphines in an atmosphere of hydrogen. Results: 1) The highest hydrogenation rate is observed with a rhodium/phosphine relation of 1 : 2.2. - 2) Substituents with donor quality in the para-positions of triphenylphosphine increase the hydrogenation rate; electrophilic substituents in the same position decrease it. - 3) There is no proportionality between the hydrogenation rate and the number of substituents in triphenylphosphine. - 4) In general the hydrogenation rate is decreased by aliphatic ligands in the tertiary phosphine; depending on the bulkiness of these ligands the rate can be increased (table 6: methyl-tert.-butyl-phenyl-phosphine).
Notizen:
Tab. 6: Methyl-tert.-butyl-phenyl-phosphin).
