    Notes: Abstract The effect of the degeneracies of the nodes (which can be different for fixed positions of the zeros for pairing of the same symmetry type) of the superconducting order parameter on the low-temperature behavior of the thermal conductivity in pure superconductors is examined. It is shown that the recent experimental data on the anisotropy of the thermal conductivity of UPt3 at low temperatures [B. Lussier, B. Ellman, and L. Taillefer, Phys. Rev. Lett. 73, 3294 (1994) and Preprint (cond-mat/9504072) (1995)] can be explained qualitatively on the basis of both two-dimensional representations E 1g and E 2u of the hexagonal group D 6h .

    Notes: Abstract It is shown that in superconductors with anisotropic pairing the exponent of the power-law magnetic-field dependence of the low-temperature heat capacity of the mixed state depends strongly on the multiplicities of the zeros of the superconducting order parameter. As a result, an experimental determination of the corresponding power-law exponent makes it possible to judge not only the presence of zeros in the order parameter but also the multiplicities of these zeros. An expression is obtained for the spatially nonuniform quasiparticle density of states at low energies.

    Notes: Abstract In the presence of zeros of the order parameter in an anisotropic superconductor, the combined effect of a magnetic field and impurities leads to two different limiting magnetic-field dependences of the specific heat. These dependences are studied both for Born scatterers and in the unitary limit for several specific examples of anisotropic pairing. A estimate is given for the crossover field.

    Notes: Abstract Charge transfer in tunnel junctions between superconductors with anisotropic singlet pairing is considered theoretically on the basis of the Eilenberger equations for the quasiclassical Green’s functions. New singularities of the current-voltage characteristics, which are characteristic of the case of anisotropic pairing, are treated analytically assuming that the electrons reflect specularly from the boundaries of the tunnel barrier. All four contributions to the tunneling current are investigated. Two of them describe Josephson tunneling, and the other two contributions correspond to the quasiparticle current (the last term appears only for a variable voltage). Different dependences of the order parameter on the momentum directions in the interior of the superconductors and different orientations of the crystal axes relative to the junction plane are considered. The results of numerical calculations of the current-voltage characteristics for several particular cases are presented.
